About this event

Annual Meeting Notice 2022 - Virginia Center for the Book - Book Arts Program

Date: Sunday, April 10, 2022

Time: 3:00 PM Business Meeting - 4:00 PM Potluck

Location: Virginia Center for the Book

Who’s Invited: Members, Friends, and those interested in our Book Arts Program

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at 3:00 PM for our much-delayed Annual Members’ Meeting.

It’s been much too long since last we gathered (the Wayzgoose Celebration, August 2021)

Our Book Arts members, friends, and all those curious about our center’s offerings are encouraged to attend this afternoon of good food and lively conversation.

Getting down to business…

  • We’ll start the afternoon off with a brief (emphasis on brief) bit of Center business.
  • Member approval of the slate of Coordinating Committee representatives
  • If you’d like to serve on the CC, please let us know before April 3.
  • Updates about forthcoming workshops, classes, projects, and special events
  • Member questions/new business

Getting down to the food…

At 4:00 PM we’ll move on to the real reason for attending, the food (it’s always about the food).

Dining will be outdoors weather permitting

The Center is providing two main dishes (chicken and a vegetarian dish) along with drinks, and tableware.

You, the members please provide:

  • A dessert if your last name begins with A-I.
  • An appetizer if your last name begins with J-Q.
  • A side or salad If your last name begins with R-Z.

Registration…

To ensure that we have a generous supply of food and drink on hand we need to know if you are planning on attending.

We’re also going to ask you about your vaccination status, as we’re not quite "out of the woods” yet.

COVID Vaccination & Masking Policy:

Our COVID Vaccination and Masking Policy:

It is the Virginia Center for the Book’s expectation that all program participants will be fully vaccinated. Those attending our indoor activities will need to be masked in accordance with evolving UVA and CDC guidelines.

Weather permitting, we will hold our potluck meal outdoors on the patio, masks optional.

Should public health guidelines change, and new norms be applicable, we reserve the right to revisit the expectations in the interest of participant health and safety.

Organized by

Virginia Humanities is the state humanities council. We’re headquartered in Charlottesville at the University of Virginia, but we serve the entire state.

We aim to share the stories of all Virginians—or, better yet, find ways for people to share their own stories. We want Virginians to connect with their history and culture and, in doing that, we hope we’ll all get to know each other a little better.
